(Introductory) Project Management (3/5 Days):
ACIPP Consulting uses a tool called PM² developed by Africa Executive and leased to ACIPP Consulting. The tool draws on the PMBOK and PRINCE models, but is adapted to the African context specifically. The training familiarises participants with the entire Project Management cycle, which was divided into Planning, Initiation, Execution and Closure. It covered all procedures that make up the individual cycles and that ensure effective management of a project in every stage. Furthermore, it provides participants with templates based on the procedures covered during the training for them to implement in their daily professional activities.
Report Writing (1-2 Day):
We stress the importance of the purpose of the report and its likely readers, and how this will affect the type of report that is written. We also cover the basic structure of the sections usually found in organizational reports, and present Microsoft Office tools to make report writing simpler and more efficient. Extensive time will be allocated to discussion of work-related problems and real-life solutions to them.
Social Media for Development (2 Days):
This is a new course ACIPP Consulting has developed for organisations and employees alike to effectively use social media for and in their work.
The sessions will be very practical and presentations will be live via the Internet. This training teaches participants practical ways on how to use social media for their personal career advancement and networking, as well as for organisational purposes. Social media tools covered include Facebook for personal use and Facebook pages for companies and organisations, Twitter, LinkedIn as well as Hootsuite and other tools to coordinate posting to Social media. Other topics covered include using the Google platform, Dropbox, and the creation of professional e-mail and newsletters using Microsoft Office Suit and tools such as MailChimp.
Proposal Writing (2 Days):
The proposal writing course is based on the TOF-M approach to facilitate this training. All the different sections typically found in a Proposal are covered, but special attention will be paid to the importance of formulating SMART objectives, tools to avoid budgeting problems and planning activities using log-frames. The two-day training includes a lot of space for discussion of personal working experiences, problems previously encountered and a team challenge on formulating SMART objectives.
Monitoring and Evaluation (2 Days):
ACIPP-Consulting uses a Power Point presentation developed by Simon Tsike-Sossah to facilitate this training. We discuss log-frames and showcase the relationship between Monitoring and Evaluation and reserve a lot of time for the discussion of personal experiences and uncertainties and work-related problems.
Microsoft Office Suite made simple (1-2 Days):
Microsoft Office is a powerful tool for offices, and every new edition adds a lot of new features designed to make work quicker and more efficient. Unfortunately, a lot of people are not familiar with these tools and continue to work in the ‘old-fashioned’ way, doing a lot of work themselves that they could have the computer do. This course aims to give an introduction to the most important Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and show shortcuts in their daily use.
Stakeholder Management (1-2 Days)
Corporations and Organisations not only have to consider the needs of their direct owners but also those of their employees, and the wider public. Therefore it became an essential part of running projects to have a stakeholder management policy in place. Stakeholder management is the process of managing the expectation of anyone that has an interest in a project or will be effected by its deliverables or outputs. This course aims at guiding you and your business into having a reliable and successful relationship with your stakeholders. The course sets out a strategy that will help you determine who a stakeholder is and how to deal with the issues that arise from it.
Effective Staff Supervision/Performance Management and Feedback (1 – 2 Days)
This course will provide participants with the tools needed to efficiently lead a team in an office environment and will provide an introduction into effective communication with staff.
Office Management (1 Day)
The course Office Management will help the participant to structure their office and run it smoothly without losing their oversight and deadlines. It also touches upon some legal issues and the importance of having a human resources system in place.
